Once I had the idea of creating a website to showcase species from the Romanian flora, and so Spontana.org was born in 2009.

This is not a scientific project. There may be inaccuracies in species identification or nomenclature, and the website does not aim to cover the entire Romanian vascular flora - only species for which pictures are available are included.

Contributions are welcome, especially for species not yet featured. Unless otherwise noted, I am the author of the pictures.
